Hi! I am Mrs. Cacioppo and I am a first grade teacher at Kipling Elementary. I have been teaching kindergarten and first grade since 2001. This is my sixth year at Kipling and my fifth year teaching first grade.
In 2001, I graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In 2015, I earned a Master's Degree in Reading Education from Concordia University to become a Reading Specialist; however, I am not ready to leave the classroom!
I am passionate about teaching reading and want to provide the opportunities and resources I can to help all readers succeed. At the end of the 2016 school year, I was fortunate enough to receive one of the two Innovation Grants from DPS109. I was able to bring a wide-range of robotics and coding opportunities to the students of Kipling!
One of my favorite things about teaching is working with kids and watching the light bulb turn on when they learn something new.
When I am away from school, I like being outside, reading, going on bike rides, cooking, and spending time with my family.
I enjoy watching the Hoosiers, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, and Indy car racing.
I look forward to a fantastic school year as we inspire learners to be leaders every day!
